Wasps

Wasps and yellowjackets are very common in Hampton Roads, building their nests in almost any shielded but accessible location. Common locations for wasp nests are attics, under porches, and in sheds and garages.

Wasp nests start out small, but can grow to the size of a basketball, or even larger if not removed within a few weeks.

The larger the wasp or yellowjacket nest, the more wasps you will have flying around your house or yard.  Although wasps won't usually attack a person unless they approach or threaten them or their nest, the more wasps there are increases the risk of stinging.
